Brands Hatch Race Report
The First round in the UK Renault Clio cup was always going to be a challenging first race weekend as I had very little testing time, which meant I had to still learn how to drive the car during the race weekend.
That said it was a very positive weekend and I was showing great times in Fridays testing and it was unfortunate that in the 40 minute qualifying session after a few quick laps, I out braked myself and ended up in the gravel missing out on approximately 30 minutes of the qualifying session, I then saw myself go from 7th to 17th on the grid as the track dried out and a lot of the drivers were able to go faster.
Race one: ended in carnage on the first lap, I was very close and did well to avoid the multi car pileup . The race was then abandoned as it took a long time for the medical team to cut the drivers out and clear the track , this race will be rescheduled to the 5:30 on Saturday next weekend during Donington race weekend.
Race 2 : Was a good solid result for my first finish in the Clio Cup Championship, after starting 14th and finishing 9th this meant I could get some good points on the board and finish 4th best rookie for the weekend.
I will be racing next weekend at Donington Park on the 18th of April make sure to come watch!
