Brands Hatch Race Report

For the last race weekend of the season it sure did involve everything what could be thrown at us, with two red flags in the first race and a great battle in the last.

First race: race 1, started well and got up into 6th with help of an incident ahead on the first corner. Unfortunately this incident created a red flag, so the race was abandoned in order for the marshals to clear the track safely. The second restart became a problem, even though I had a great launch, as I went to put the gear into second the gear box gave in and broke leaving me with only 1st gear to limp the car back around to the pit lane and that finish as a DNF sadly.

Second race: starting 14th I got away off the start line very quick and managed to get to the inside line to go down paddock hill which was very important. During the race I was able to pick off 6 drivers and also set my fastest lap while doing so. Finishing 8th place but with a 5 second penalty as of track limits this set me back to 11th place.

After a great successful year of learning race craft in senior racing I am now looking forward to see what opportunities 2015 will bring!!!
